there is no medical data that supports claims that resistance training stunts the growth. all recent data is showing the exact opposite. some uneducated folks yammer on and on about fractures in growth plates, etc. but all recent data shows that participating in football, basketball and gymnastics is a higher risk than resistance training is when it comes to fracturing the growth plates. resistance training uses slow and controlled movements, there are no jarring impacts as with the other sports mentioned.
